Apr\u00e8s avoir chant\u00e9 La Rochelle pendant pr\u00e8s de quinze ans (\u00ab En passant par La Rochelle \u00bb), Jean-Marc Desbois clame d\u00e9sormais son amour pour son \u00ab pa\u00efs \u00bb \u00e0 lui, d\u2019Aunis et de Saintonge. L\u2019id\u00e9e lui a \u00e9t\u00e9 souffl\u00e9e il y a deux ans par deux muses int\u00e9ress\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Un jour, \u00e0 la fin d\u2019un spectacle, St\u00e9phane Villain et Boris Sallaud [le pr\u00e9sident de Charentes Tourisme et le directeur Culture du D\u00e9partement] sont venus me voir en me disant que c\u2019\u00e9tait g\u00e9nial et qu\u2019il faudrait cr\u00e9er un autre spectacle \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du d\u00e9partement. C\u2019est parti comme \u00e7a. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Et le chanteur-auteur-compositeur de cogiter \u00ab tout un hiver \u00bb pour trouver la bonne formule. Car, si relater le pass\u00e9 de La Rochelle en une heure trente est d\u00e9j\u00e0 une gageure, mettre en musique le volumineux livre d\u2019histoire de la Charente-Maritime ressemble plus \u00e0 un tour de force qu\u2019\u00e0 un tour de chant. D\u2019autant que l\u2019artiste a veill\u00e9 \u00e0 ne pas se contenter d\u2019une carte postale musicale d\u00e9crivant les \u00eeles et le littoral. \u00ab Je n\u2019ai pas oubli\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, confie Jean-Marc Desbois. Il y a des paysans de mer, mais aussi des paysans de terre, \u00e0 qui je rends hommage. \u00bb<\/p>\n

De Nino Ferrer \u00e0 Tri Yann<\/h2>\n

Le r\u00e9cital (1), m\u00ealant une dizaine de reprises et de compositions personnelles, retrace les grandes lignes de l\u2019histoire locale, de Pierrette \u00e0 Saint-C\u00e9saire (\u00ab notre premi\u00e8re Miss France ! \u00bb) \u00e0 Mediolanum Santonum (Saintes), de la fondation de Rochefort au bombardement de Royan en 1945. Il \u00e9voque les marais, la Venise verte, Port-d\u2019Envaux, Aulnay, Talmont.<\/p>\n

Il d\u00e9peint Royan sur l\u2019air de \u00ab La Rua Madureira \u00bb de Nino Ferrer, Rochefort avec la \u00ab La Chanson de Maxence \u00bb tir\u00e9e des \u00ab Demoiselles de Rochefort \u00bb, les \u00e9glises romanes avec \u00ab Si mort a mors \u00bb de Tri Yann, sans \u00e9luder la p\u00e9riode esclavagiste de La Rochelle avec une adaptation de \u00ab Hallelujah \u00bb de Leonard Cohen.<\/p>\n

La \u00ab ballade irlandaise \u00bb de Renaud conclut sur une note d\u2019espoir cette \u00ab fantaisie musicale, historique et touristique \u00bb, produite par Cristal Production, avec le soutien du D\u00e9partement. Cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 Rivedoux en septembre dernier, le spectacle sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le 14 juin \u00e0 la salle des f\u00eates de Rioux. En attendant d\u2019autres dates, \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n

Nougaro sur vinyle
\n<\/h2>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir chant\u00e9 Claude Nougaro sur sc\u00e8ne pendant des ann\u00e9es, Jean-Marc Desbois a franchi le seuil du studio. Le Rochelais rend hommage au Toulousain dans un album vinyle enregistr\u00e9 avec le big band de Michel Delage. Il offre des adaptations de neuf chansons de Nougaro, des standards tels que \u00ab Le jazz et la java \u00bb ou \u00ab Le cin\u00e9ma \u00bb, et des p\u00e9pites m\u00e9connues comme \u00ab Chanson pour Maryline \u00bb. Jean-Marc Desbois les pr\u00e9sentera en concert le 3 ao\u00fbt au lac de Frace \u00e0 Aigrefeuille-d\u2019Aunis et le 18 octobre \u00e0 l\u2019Eden \u00e0 Saint-Jean-d\u2019Ang\u00e9ly.
Sur tous les fronts, l\u2019artiste travaille aussi actuellement \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une reprise de chansons fran\u00e7aises (Aznavour, Ferrat, Reggiani, Hallyday, etc.) en version symphonique, sous la baguette de Francis Gardr\u00e9, directeur de l\u2019orchestre symphonique des Vals de Saintonge.
