boygenius<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le supergroupe, men\u00e9 par les intr\u00e9pides Phoebe Bridgers<\/a>, Lucy Dacus<\/a> et Julien Baker<\/a>, a sorti cette ann\u00e9e son tr\u00e8s attendu nouvel album, sobrement intitul\u00e9 The Record<\/em><\/strong>, cinq ans apr\u00e8s un EP pr\u00e9curseur. Un disque solide comme du rock, port\u00e9 par d\u2019\u00e9minents singles (\u00ab Emily I\u2019m Sorry \u00bb, \u00ab Not Strong Enough \u00bb, \u00ab $20 \u00bb) et une \u00e9nergie imparable, qu\u2019on a h\u00e2te de d\u00e9couvrir pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 Rock en Seine.<\/p>\n

Turnstile<\/strong><\/p>\n

Originaire de Baltimore, le groupe de punk hardcore Turnstile<\/a> a plusieurs cordes \u00e0 son arc, bien au-del\u00e0 du genre, notamment un go\u00fbt certain pour l\u2019arrangement des m\u00e9lodies. Tellement qu\u2019on s\u2019\u00e9tonne de d\u00e9couvrir un nouvel EP \u2013 sorti ce jour -, enregistr\u00e9 avec les confr\u00e8res jazzy Badbadnotgood, revisitant certains titres de leur dernier opus, l\u2019implacable GLOW ON<\/em> (dont un avec Blood Orange !). Rien que pour le titre \u00ab MYSTERY \u00bb, on tentera non sans vergogne le premier rang, bravant les pogos.<\/p>\n

Viagra Boys<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quelle ascension, depuis la sortie de leur premier album, Street Worms<\/em>, en 2018. Depuis, la bande, nouvelle figure de la sc\u00e8ne post-punk su\u00e9doise, fond\u00e9e en 2015 par Sebastian Murphy et Henrik H\u00f6ckert, s\u2019est aventur\u00e9 vers de belles contr\u00e9es, plus cuivr\u00e9es et jazzy (Welfare Jazz<\/em>, sorti en 2021). Leur troisi\u00e8me b\u00e9b\u00e9, Cave World<\/em>, assemble les meilleures id\u00e9es du groupe et donne naissance \u00e0 des hits tels que \u00ab Punk Rock Loser \u00bb, \u00ab Baby Criminal \u00bb et \u00ab Ain\u2019t No Thief \u00bb. Le tout, port\u00e9 par cette voix si rauque, si singuli\u00e8re. Ambiance chauff\u00e9e \u00e0 blanc assur\u00e9e !<\/p>\n

Ethel Cain<\/strong><\/p>\n

Compositrice et musicienne am\u00e9ricaine, Ethel Cain<\/a> prend \u00e0 revers l\u2019imagerie du r\u00eave am\u00e9ricain, souvent trop \u00ab romantis\u00e9 \u00bb, et le fa\u00e7onne \u00e0 sa mani\u00e8re, entre rock \u00e9th\u00e9r\u00e9, goth pop et americana des temps modernes. Il y a, dans les meilleurs segments de son premier album sorti l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, des titres qu\u2019on aimerait \u00e9couter en tandem avec Bruce Springsteen ou Florence + The Machine (aussi \u00e0 l\u2019affiche de Rock en Seine). Mais sa voix, ang\u00e9lique, se suffit \u00e0 elle-m\u00eame, portant des titres comme \u00ab House of Nebraska \u00bb et \u00ab American Teenager \u00bb vers des sommets de contemplation et d\u2019exaltation. En live, une r\u00e9elle profession de foi !<\/p>\n
